Among the 3 companion parrots I had, I personally feel that Kacy is absolutely unique and special. She seems to armed with extraordinary abilities that Kermit and Kiki never had. Strangely enough, Kacy knows the alphabet letter “I” and even knows how to write it out…
With her own poops! Presenting the Kacy’s i-Poop!
Neither me nor any of my family members taught her how to do this. How did she manage to do it? Merely coincidence? But she got this i-Poop several times this month!
Next, most parrot owners faced problems with their parrots’ poops! Poops on shirts. Poops on furniture. It can be an endless hassle to wipe off those unsightly poops. I faced such problems when I had Kermit and Kiki.
Some parrot owners may questioned, “Why not potty trained your bird?” In my opinion potty trained a bird can be quite useless, it doesn’t seem to help. We all know birds have high metabolism rate and with their short digestion tract, they poop nearly every 10-15 minutes unless the bird had the unique ability to hold its bowels just like humans.
Strangely enough, Kacy had never pooped on me, neither did she poop on the furniture. She seems to know defecating on one’s shoulder or on furniture is wrong. Whenever she feels like defecating, she will fly off to the ground and perform her backward stunts and defecate.
Kacy had never attend any formal potty training, the only thing I did since day 1 was when she pooped I will say “poo-poo”. Furthermore I had never directed and never taught her that defecation had to be done only on the ground.
Either she really shares a common human instincts and understand the basic manners like us, or I really happened to potty-trained her unknowingly.
