When I was at a young age, my mum and dad gave me an important lesson about saving money. Since then, I understand the importance of saving and maintaining a healthy habit by making constant deposits in my piggy bank and saving account.

Saving is a skill everyone needs, including Kacy! And that’s why I got Kacy a piggy bank and taught her how to deposit coins into her piggy bank. I wanted her to get in the saving habit early.

I’m sure that Kacy has demonstrated the importance of saving in her latest parrot trick video and this led me wondering whether will there be any commercial banks be interested to hire Kacy as their banks’ ambassador? *Giggle*

With prior parrot tricks, the coin trick didn’t pose too much of a problem for Kacy. She mastered this trick within a short time frame.

In my opinion, the only major obstacle in the coin trick was to condition Kacy to orientate herself in depositing the coins into the coin slot in the right direction. The small coin slot opening on the piggy bank make it challenging for Kacy. Kacy has to orientate herself towards the coin slot opening to make a successful coin deposit or else she won’t be able to slot in the coins into the piggy bank.

During the earlier training sessions, Kacy has failed a couple of times by orientating herself in the wrong direction. After the earlier failures, Kacy seems to be able to feel for the edge of coin slot with her beak and her cute wiggly tongue. In scenarios where the coins were positioned against the coin slot opening, Kacy able to feel for edge for slots, tilt her head to orientate herself towards the coin slot opening and make a successful deposit.

Although Kacy has successfully understand the coin trick, but there are still more room for improvements. I am certain that Kacy can still progress even further.
