It had been raining for days. The skies of early mornings were always covered with dark clouds. Kacy, the Black Capped Conure and I could hardly remember when was the last time we get to see bright sunshine in the morning?

On the Friday morning, bright sunshine greeted us through the windows. The gloomy mornings were finally over. We were really enchanted.

Kacy was exceptionally in high spirit! She dashed to the spot where the sun were actively shining at. And there she was enjoying the sun, having a full morning of indoor sunbathing.

Kacy completely enjoyed every minute every second under the sun!

I managed to capture a few endearing moments of Kacy with my trusty compact digital camera, a Canon Powershot A720IS, while she was enjoying her sunbathing session.

Here’s Kacy scratching her neck, trying to break the sheaths of pin feathers.

And, here’s Kacy was scratching her face, but she appeared like she’s posing in the picture.

And, here’s Kacy was giving herself a nice rub on her head.

It’s no surprising that Kacy love the sun so much, so do I. I personally feel good and feel more energize after getting some natural sunlight. Same goes for Kacy and any others parrots!

Natural sunlight brings great health benefits to parrots. It helps improve feather condition and regulate metabolism.

Ultra-Violet (UV) light from the sun allow production of Vitamin D in parrots. Vitamin D is an important element which allows proper calcium absorption in parrots for healthier bones.

That’s why I always make an effort to bring Kacy outdoor, letting her to receive nice natural sunlight.
