Kacy the Conure Enjoys the Sun
It had been raining for days. The skies of early mornings were always covered with dark clouds. Kacy, the Black Capped Conure and I could hardly remember when was the last time we get to see bright sunshine in the morning?
On the Friday morning, bright sunshine greeted us through the windows. The gloomy mornings were finally over. We were really enchanted.
Kacy was exceptionally in high spirit! She dashed to the spot where the sun were actively shining at. And there she was enjoying the sun, having a full morning of indoor sunbathing.
Kacy completely enjoyed every minute every second under the sun!

On my previous post, I mentioned about helping my friends, William and Amelyn to parrot-sit their parrots, the 3Ts for 10 days. The 3Ts (namely Tweety, Tyson and Teri) are gorgeous, fun-loving little parrots, but there was one big issue.
Tweety (the Lutino Lovebird) and Tyson (the Blue Pacific Parrotlet) are such tame sweethearts. Unfortunately, Teri (the Peach Faced Lovebird) wasn’t as cooperative like the other two. He’s aggressive and very territorial! He would lunged at anyone who tried to pick him up.
Teri gave me a hard bite when I wanted to offer my fingers for him to step-up. The bite was really bad and drew blood instantly. *Ouch*
So never ever underestimate the bite power of lovebirds!
In fact, I wasn’t the only victim. Everyone in the family had gotten a nasty bite from Teri. That’s really one big problem if no one in the family can handle him.
While Tyson and Tweety got to enjoy their out-of-cage sessions, Teri was the only one left in his own cage. I felt sorry for him. Seriously, I do not hope to see him ended up cage-bound after his 10-days stay at our place.
I strongly felt that I ought to do something to improve the situation.

Few weeks back, my mum and I were entrusted to parrot-sit for the 3Ts – Tweety, Tyson and Teri. William and Amelyn sought for our help as they would be out of town for 10 days.
It was probably my first time to parrot-sit 3 parrots at one go, it was definitely a challenge. Not only it was fun to have them around, but I viewed it as a great opportunity for Kacy, my Black Capped Conure to interact with other parrots.

Yesterday marks the day when Kacy, the Black Capped Conure was hatched. 24th January is an important date to remember, it’s Kacy’s “hatch-day”.
Months back when Kacy just joined the family, she was just a cute, helpless baby barely had any feathers on her body. Now, we are celebrating Kacy’s one year old “hatch-day”. She’s no longer the “naked” helpless baby we know, but an active, playful, smart and beautifully transformed little parrot!
Mum and I threw a mini “hatch-day” party for Kacy yesterday. It is a simple celebration, no fancy “hatch-day” decorations in around her cage, neither did we invite any of her feathered friends to celebration, but a celebration within the family.

Oscar The Cockatoo with no feathers
Oscar is a female cockatoo (despite her gender, she was given a male name) with no feathers that lives at Humane Society of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Oscar wasn’t born bald. She suffered from a fatal and highly contagious disease known as Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD). The disease which targets only parrots, impair immune system, leading to fatal infection that damage the feathers and beaks. To date, there is no cure for this deadly disease. Medical opinions from the vets indicated Oscar has only six months to live, but that was 13years ago.

Kacy Deposit Coins in Piggy Bank
When I was at a young age, my mum and dad gave me an important lesson about saving money. Since then, I understand the importance of saving and maintaining a healthy habit by making constant deposits in my piggy bank and saving account.
Saving is a skill everyone needs, including Kacy! And that’s why I got Kacy a piggy bank and taught her how to deposit coins into her piggy bank. I wanted her to get in the saving habit early.
I’m sure that Kacy has demonstrated the importance of saving in her latest parrot trick video and this led me wondering whether will there be any commercial banks be interested to hire Kacy as their banks’ ambassador? *Giggle*

Kacy’s Little Footprint in Local Papers
