On my previous post, I mentioned about helping my friends, William and Amelyn to parrot-sit their parrots, the 3Ts for 10 days. The 3Ts (namely Tweety, Tyson and Teri) are gorgeous, fun-loving little parrots, but there was one big issue.
Tweety (the Lutino Lovebird) and Tyson (the Blue Pacific Parrotlet) are such tame sweethearts. Unfortunately, Teri (the Peach Faced Lovebird) wasn’t as cooperative like the other two. He’s aggressive and very territorial! He would lunged at anyone who tried to pick him up.
Teri gave me a hard bite when I wanted to offer my fingers for him to step-up. The bite was really bad and drew blood instantly. *Ouch*
So never ever underestimate the bite power of lovebirds!
In fact, I wasn’t the only victim. Everyone in the family had gotten a nasty bite from Teri. That’s really one big problem if no one in the family can handle him.
While Tyson and Tweety got to enjoy their out-of-cage sessions, Teri was the only one left in his own cage. I felt sorry for him. Seriously, I do not hope to see him ended up cage-bound after his 10-days stay at our place.
I strongly felt that I ought to do something to improve the situation.

Few weeks back, my mum and I were entrusted to parrot-sit for the 3Ts – Tweety, Tyson and Teri. William and Amelyn sought for our help as they would be out of town for 10 days.
It was probably my first time to parrot-sit 3 parrots at one go, it was definitely a challenge. Not only it was fun to have them around, but I viewed it as a great opportunity for Kacy, my Black Capped Conure to interact with other parrots.

Kiki’s Unrevealed Videos – Together
Kermit, my Senegal Parrot, the only angel left in the family, had some changes in his behaviors. He’s really quiet most of the time and less active. Probably, he realized that Kiki was no longer there to bug him. Kermit is not the only experiencing the change, including me and my family members were still missing all the fun and laughter brought over by Kiki.
Life is indeed monotonous without Kiki now. I’ve to admit the blog started to be a little less exciting without the presence and updates of Kiki.
Lately, I tried to dig out some unrevealed videos and pictures of Kiki to share with everyone. Here’s another video captured on 23rd May this year, featuring Kiki with Kermit on the playstand:
These was the closest they can get. Kiki was expecting a share of the food with Kermit, but Kermit seemed couldn’t be bothered by Kiki’s reaction. Probably Kermit was still living in his own world at that stage!

Kiki’s Unrevealed Videos – Napping
It’s already the 15th day since Kiki went missing during one incident. Till now, we still have no news about Kiki. My family members and I have learned to accept the truth that Kiki will never come back. We do hope she’s definitely doing well now and some friendly souls will take good care of her.
In order to commemorate Kiki, I had decided to share some of the unrevealed videos of Kiki and releasing a special video collection of Kiki in my coming posts. I’m also planning for a campaign to commemorate Kiki, so do stay tune to the blog for details.

Kiki’s Pull a Car Trick at The Best Trick Competition
Don’t worry if you missed Kiki’s performance at The Best Trick Competition, one of the segment in the National Day Parakeet Competition 2008 held at Lim Chu Kang, Farmart.
I’ve managed to get hold of a short preview of Kiki performing one of her favorite trick – Pull a Car Trick, in the event. Apologised for the poor quality and fuzzy images of the video.

My friends ever questioned me, “Why getting a small parrot? Why not getting a bigger parrot like a Cockatoo or even Macaw?”
Many people with little knowledge on parrots tend to have this misconception that the Bigger the Better. Furthermore, when we talk about parrots, what most people can think of and relate with parrots are only large macaws and cockatoos.
In my opinion, size doesn’t affect the quality of companionship and affection from the parrot. Small parrots share the common traits and characteristics like their larger relatives.

Back to the basics again. This round no fancy props, but common empty paper towel roller that can be found in almost every household. So what Kiki going to perform this time with the empty roller?
Just like what the title says, it’s her own Tunnel Trick. A relatively simple trick, but interesting and fun trick that able to kill any boredom and motivating her to continue to learn new things.

Last Friday was Kiki’s one year old birthday. Although I wasn’t really sure about Kiki’s actual hatch day, even the breeder who I got Kiki from wasn’t sure too, but I decided to make 27th June as an official date for Kiki’s birthday.
Neither did I throw a party for her nor invite other feathered friends to the celebration, but a simple one.
